The essay "My Fundamental Vision" is perhaps Teilhard's greatest exposition of his thought, as it was in fact a defense he wrote to his Jesuit superiors clarifying his opinion in light of outcry against him. It is a masterpiece that today has still not found it's resting place, ebbing above the waters of theological thought.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955) was a Jesuit priest and paleontologist who studied chemistry, physics, botany, and zoology and received his doctorate in geology. The author of several works of philosophy and religion, he is considered by many to be among the foremost thinkers of our time.
